coachella packing list

Coachella is starting up for the next two weekends and I can’t wait for the endless festival street style posts.  I am currently residing in the PNW, and shall not be attending (also crowds eeek, no thank you).  But I’m still dreaming up festival style outfits…  Here are a couple things that I would pack if I was headed to the valley!  (Not pictured: MASS amounts of sunscreen, chapstick, and water).DesktopPicture credit: Child of Wild, Free People, Forever 21, NastyGal, Zara

Coachella Packing List (clockwise from top):

These Child of Wild temporary gold foil tattoos are EVERYTHING.  There are a bunch of options to choose from, ranging in design styles.  There are some tribal arm cuffs that I want just for…everyday life? / A perfect pair of boots are a necessity.  These Jeffrey Campbell booties have the benefit of being a boot/sandal cross and a nice way to help beat the heat. / Coachella is in the middle of the desert, so not only is a hat a chic accessory, it will help protect your face and shoulders from some serious sunburn.  A tan is cute, a bright red face is not.  This Forever 21 one is great because it’s cute and inexpensive, so if it gets lost to the desert, thats just fine. / A mini dress is as much a Coachella necessity as high-waisted shorts.  This one is flowy and bohemian and perfect. / I love the breezy rustic feel of this top.  Light and perfect. / A bucket bag is a perfect festival solution.  They can slip across your body for comfortable wearability and can fit a deceptively large amount of stuff.

love list

unnamed‘Tis the season for red and pink and hearts all over.  Here are a few of our favorite love inspired gifts in case you’re feeling stumped this Valentine’s day.  (Not included, yet possibly the best gift ever, being an edible arrangement.  Just saying.) 0.) We’re saying yes to this “Yes to Love” t-shirt by Sincerely Jules. 1.) This made with love wooden heart spoon from Terrain is too adorable2.) “You make my heart beet” dishtowel.  Enough said.  There’s also an “apple of my eye” version that’s worth looking into.  Also from Terrain3.) These heart measuring cups will make cooking fun all year long. Available at Sur la Table. 4.) “The Never Ending Love Story” book clutch by Kate Spade.  Okay, maybe this is a stretch at $300, but being a bit of a bibliophile, I couldn’t resist.  I mean, isn’t it pretty? 5.) BFF ring.  Because your besties deserve some love too.  Find at Shopbop. 6.) I love Dogeared’s dainty necklaces, and this little heart is perfect for everyday wearability.  They have a whole range of little charms to choose from so you can find just the right one for your sweetheart. 7.) Mugs are always a good idea because coffee and tea are always a good idea (that’s passable logic, right?).  Decorate your own, or buy a cute one like this from Sur la Table. Make it a whole package by picking up some hot cocoa and heart shaped marshmallows to go with. 8.) This pillow is too cute. Find your own at Nordstrom, or buy a plain white pillow and some fabric markers and make your own! 9.) Pablo Neruda’s Love Poems are some of the best.  Grab the book and perhaps mark a few that remind you of your sweetie.  I mean, can you say romántico? 10.) This make-up bag is just too darn cute.  Fill it with some make-up counter goodies and you’ve got a win win situation on your hands.  Available at Nordstrom.

a few of our favorite things: a holiday gift guide

1. Surviving the cold winter is going to be a lot easier with a cozy cable knit blanket.  Give the gift of warmth and maybe you’ll be allowed to snuggle up too.  For an affordable option check out this one online at H&M2. While socks may be an infamous grandma gift, try a cozy pair like these ones from Three Bird Nest and your friends will be thanking you. They make a great stocking stuffer too! 3. For your most fashionable friends and family, denim never goes out of style.  For quality denim totally sourced and made right here in America, try a pair of jeans or a chambray shirt from Bluer Denim. 4. Inspire some creativity this season with some art supplies! Paints, chalk, pencils, or just an empty notebook can bring out the artist in anyone. 5. We’re hoping when we give out these cocktail shakers, we’ll get to enjoy the benefits as well.  For a personalized version, check out this one from Williams-Sonoma. 6. Something about footie pajamas makes us believe we can be kids forever.  Check out these ones from Macys and your friends will have sweet dreams all year long. 7. The perfect way to survive bad winter hair is to add a little sparkle, maybe it’ll distract from all those frizzies. Try a headband like this one from Modcloth.  8. For a gift that keeps on giving, buying a season of your friend’s favorite television show is always a winner.  New favorites like Girls to old favorites like Friends, get out your popcorn and get cozy. 9. A timeless gift for someone special, a watch is both fashionable and useful.  We love this one by Kate Spade. 10. When Penguin came out with 31 classics designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith and bound in cloth, we wanted to buy all of them immediately.  For an excellent read and a book that you will want to display proudly, check out the whole collection at Penguin.
